About
Distinctive Concrete
Distinctive Concrete President Bill Guthro began his
career in the concrete business back in 1984. Fresh out of high school,
Bill “enjoyed” digging trenches, wheel barrowing concrete, shoveling
concrete and any other rotten task reserved for the lowest man on the
totem pole.
Bill worked his way up the ladder through hard work on the construction
site during the day and attended Boston’s Wentworth Institute of
Technology in the evening, earning an A.A.S. in Building Construction.
He became a Journeyman in the Carpenter’s Local Union # 26 in 1989 and
by 1991 he became Concrete Foreman on some of the world’s largest
concrete construction projects that were being built in the Boston area
at the time including the Deer Island Treatment Plant, The Ted Williams
Tunnel and several others.
In 1999, Bill established Distinctive Concrete and through his life-long
commitment to a strong work ethic, self-determination and commitment to
being the best has built Distinctive Concrete into New England’s premier
decorative concrete specialist with client’s including several
international hotel chains, national retail stores, local
municipalities, sports fitness clubs, local restaurants and hundreds of
residential customers.
In addition to installing decorative concrete systems, Distinctive
Concrete is also a distributor of decorative concrete tools, supplies
